About this Masterclass:
This workshop, which we have run successfully for ten years, explores the reality of earning a living either part-time or full-time as a professional photographer. These seminars, designed to focus on your realistic career goals, address the main differences between the Commercial and Domestic photographic marketplace.
The Seminars:
Running a business as a professional photographer is challenging. These workshops have been designed to educate photographers pursuing a career in photography. We believe that it is wise to learn sound business principles and practices.
A segment of each class will be dedicated to questions, answers and networking. There will be classroom-based exercises based on the topics below as well as assignments:
• Pricing: The differences in Domestic pricing and Commercial quoting.
• Photography business models – Commercial and Domestic.
• Basic business budgets and overheads.
• Legal obligations.
• Branding, marketing and Social Media.
• Copyright and licensing.
• Planning and strategies for the Commercial and Domestic market.
• Insurance.
• Career pathways –assisting, art, media, wedding, portrait, commercial, fashion.
• Case studies.
• Digital asset management (workflow).
Please note: Despite the content of budgeting etc., this is not a bookkeeping course, but a realistic approach to establishing a sustainable photographic business.
The workshop is limited to a maximum of ten students and is held over four nights:

All sessions will take place at Atkins Pro Lab, 89 Fullarton Road, Kent Town from 6-9pm.
COST: $550.00 for the series of four sessions (includes notes, catering and GST).
