Hey there beginner photographer! This is the place to start!
Bring along your digital SLR or mirrorless camera and learn what all those buttons and dials do. Learn to take photos in manual mode, then from there learn the various modes on cameras.
This one-day workshop presents an introduction to Digital SLR cameras and image capture. It is intended for those who are new to digital photography and want a thorough introduction to working with digital cameras.

Required Materials
Please bring a notebook and pen, your lunch and your camera and your camera manual. All other notes will be provided.

Additional Information
The workshop will cover basic image capture, aperture/shutter speed priorities, creative exposure controls, lenses for digital capture, comparative field of view, depth of field, resolution, tone and contrast controls, ISO settings, white balance, JPEG, TIFF and Camera Raw formats. It will also cover exposures, shutter effects, the art of seeing photographically and basic image processing.
Detailed class notes are provided.
Participants might enrol in this workshop to help them decide which digital camera best meets their needs, although you will get the most out of this workshop if you do have a camera.
If you are enrolling with another person, it is not essential for each participant to own a Digital SLR camera; you will be able to manage by sharing a camera.
