New residency call out!
ATTN performers or all disciplines! Apply now to receive support in developing your next work.
The Mill's Breakout Residencies foster experimentation and creation by supporting performing artists to develop and present new work through exploration. This series includes three supported development opportunities.
BRINK Productions Theatre Residency:
New in 2019! Use of The Breakout (at no charge) for one week full time with mentorship from BRINK Productions Artistic Director, Chris Drummond. Includes an honorarium of $500.
This residency presents a great opportunity for a theatre-maker to work alongside - and learn from - Drummond, who has developed new work with BRINK and directed for State Theatre Company of South Australia.
Spotlight Breakout Residency:
Use of The Breakout (at no charge) in 2-3 week full time blocks, resulting in a “work-in-progress” performance outcome (a showing, reading, artist talk, etc). Includes an honorarium of up-to $2000.
Free-range Breakout Residency:
Use of The Breakout (at no charge) in 2-week full time blocks. There are no expected performance outcomes for the Free-Range Residency, but that's not to say applicants shouldn't feel they can host a public event to cap it off.
