Sculpture by Greg Johns and photography by Michal Kluvanek
Opening night: 6-8 pm Friday 12 October
Opening speaker: Christine Nicholls, writer, curator and Senior Lecturer in Australian Studies, Flinders University
Artist talk: 2pm Saturday 27 October
When sculptor Greg Johns was asked to choose a 2D artist to exhibit with, he immediately thought of his long-time friend and photographer Michal Kluvanek. His reasoning? The synergy between their work which is based on a shared sensitivity to and connection with the Australian landscape.
In this exhibition, Greg will be exhibiting new sculpture, including selected small table works realised from drawings made over the last five decades. Michal is showing three sequences of photographs: Thebarton (Michal’s immediate neighbourhood), Palmer and Kangaroo Island, and a set of black and white images focussing on the effects of light.
