The notion of home transcends conventional meanings and interpretations. Beyond its physical manifestation as a shelter, home unfolds as a dynamic concept that resonates across the human experience. It embodies not only a tangible space but also a repository of emotions, memories, and a sense of belonging. Yet the concept of home is not without its complexities. The exploration of home involves an introspective journey, unraveling layers of meaning and confronting the nuances of attachment and detachment, personal growth, and familial conflict. Transience or instability can evoke feelings of displacement, making it difficult for individuals to perceive the home as a nurturing space.
Praxis Gallery seeks the submission of photographic art that explores the idea, space, or memory of home. A broad interpretation of the theme is encouraged. All genres, capture types, black & white and color, traditional and non-traditional photographic and digital post-production processes are welcome for submission.

CURATORS | Praxis Directors
Program Director Ross Anderson is an award-winning fine art photographer and filmmaker. Gallery and Installation Director Jonathan Pavlica is the Praxis print & color artist, photo editor, and installationist. Communications Director Jenni Undis is a letterpress printer and freelance creative consultant.
ACCEPTANCE | AWARDS
Up to 38 images will be selected by the curators for exhibition at Praxis Gallery. A Directors’ Choice and five Honorable Mentions will be awarded and featured in the exhibition, the printed show catalog, and the online exhibit gallery. Directors’ Choice will receive free entry into three juried calls for entry of their choice and a complimentary exhibit book.
ENTRY FEE
$35.00 for submitting up to five images, $5.00 for each additional image, up to ten total images per open call. Payment is accepted by credit/debit card through our secure online submission site. The entry fee for submissions is non-refundable.

ELIGIBILITY
International, all accepted. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Submitted images may not have been exhibited at Praxis Gallery within the past year.
