Happy Birthday Hilla Becher! Typologies, New typographics and Camera Portfolio 1 research.

Today is the birthday of a photographer often credited with changing the way we see buildings and coining the term "Typologies" Hilla Becher alongside her long term collaborator and husband Bernd. Hilla came up with the idea to photograph architecture and buildings the same way every time, allowing the viewer to examine buildings almost like a science.

Hilla passed away in 2015 but this fabulous video of her talking about her and Bernd's work from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is a stunning look into their work and thought processes behind it. Camera 1 students - you will love this one!
