Our classes are perfect for beginners looking for a deeper understanding of photographic skills, those who are unsure if they want to take the full Certificate IV or Diploma yet, or anyone wanting to hone their craft. Study as you would in a normal face to face class, meet with your lecturer once a week for nine weeks via Zoom, with all of your recorded lectures and class materials stored in your Google Classroom when you study any of our nine week accredited courses.

Looking to complete outstanding competencies/classes in your Cert IV or Diploma, but they are not offered in the current Term’s schedule? In this course you can work independently on a chosen topic under your lecturer’s guidance to contribute to completion of your Diploma.
Recent students have studied Camera Portfolio 4, Photographic Concepts 3, Studio 2 and Camera 3 in these classes.

This course will give you a solid grounding in digital imaging concepts such as bit depth, file systems, colour spaces, and digital manipulation processes including curves, levels, and layers, Photoshop, Lightroom and Digital Asset Management.
This is an excellent all-round introduction course into editing and sorting your images.

Class Prerequisites: Introduction to Photography or equivalent camera knowledge and basic computer skills.

This is the ultimate Introduction to Photography course for beginners. Learn from real life professional photographers in this hands-on fundamentals of Digital SLR and Mirrorless camera course.
Competencies covered:
CUAPHI312 - Capture photographic images (60 nominal hours)
CUAPPR403 - Store and maintain finished creative work (30 nominal hours)
Class prerequisites: there are no formal prerequisites, but students should have a basic level of computer literacy.

Unlock your creativity and shift your thinking with this photographic taster course. Each week learn about a new genre of photography and explore the impact these genres have on photography today. This course is scheduled four times a year.

Become a composition badass. It’s that simple. Unpack all of the elements that make for bold, visually engaging photographs that stop people in their tracks. This course is scheduled twice per year.
Competencies covered:
CUADES301 - Explore use of colour (50 nominal hours)
CAUDES412 - Interpret and respond to a design brief (30 nominal hours)
CUAACD411 - Integrate colour theory and design processes (40 nominal hours)
Class Prerequisites: Introduction to Photography or equivalent DSLR/Mirrorless skills.
Suggested/Optional Prerequisites: You don’t have to have completed Digital Imaging 1, Camera Portfolio 1, and Camera Portfolio 2 to undertake Photographic Design, however some of the skills covered in them can be helpful for this course.

Learn various lighting styles for portrait and still-life work. This course is a core component of the Certificate IV in Photography and Digital Imaging.

CUAPHI412 - Apply photo imaging lighting techniques (100 nominal hours)

Essential for photographers and modern art history novices alike, the course illustrates art practice since pre-photography starting with Romanticism 1780-1850 through to current art practice with Post-Modernism and Deconstructionism in Architecture.
This course runs once a year

CUAPPR311 - Produce creative work (45 nominal hours)
Class Prerequisites: Introduction to Studio, Photographic Concepts 1 recommended, but not essential.

Business 101 is an introduction to the day to day running your photographic business and planning your new venture!
This course runs once a year
Competencies covered:
CUAPPR512 - Develop sustainability of own professional practice (50 nominal hours)
BSBFIN501 - Manage budgets and financial plans (70 nominal hours)
Class Prerequisites: There are no specific prerequisites for this class, but it is recommended that students enrol in this subject towards the end of their Certificate IV, or as part of your Diploma.
